Planning parties for children

In order to excel when doing international Nanny jobs, individuals need a range of skills and, to help ensure they are at the very top of their game, many such experts are always on the lookout for hints and tips.

With this in mind, Nannies may be intrigued by advice given by Pippa Middleton concerning how to throw the perfect kids’ party.

According to the socialite, who is also the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, planning a “dazzling” children’s party can be fun. Writing on Independent School Parent magazine, she said that “big, blow-out” parties are a growing trend. However, she added that there are ways of throwing “fabulous” bashes on smaller budgets.

Pippa added: “Age is obviously important. Let’s be honest; [a] one-year-old hasn’t got a clue it’s his or her birthday. Until children are at least three, games and entertainers are almost impossible. Generally, parties for children aged one or two should be inexpensive, low-key affairs, ideally held at home.”

She went on to say that kids aged three and four are generally happy with a “homespun party” too, perhaps with the addition of a theme. She added that it’s easy to source special party products online and people can look out for decoration kits, party game kits and pre-filled party bags.

When it comes to children aged five and above, “expectations rise”, Pippa noted. About this, she remarked: “A party away from home is always a special treat and there are lots of fabulous ideas to choose from including discos, cooking parties, sporting activities or even miniature tea parties or science parties.”

Being able to access tips like this over the web can make being an English Nanny that bit easier.
